Pictures Of Pontoon Float Boats Need Advice Building A Pontoon Boat Out Of 55 Gallon Drums?

Need advice building a pontoon boat out of 55 gallon drums? - pictures of pontoon float boats

So I've noticed a lot of math and that 55 liters of plastic used to about 480 pounds, before it sank. , "Said I decided that 55 and plastic drums 30 gallons with the lid closed and caps are better sealed to the pontoons would have only a very small budget.

I want to make a boat length of about 14-16 meters. With the amount of barrels of 55 gallons to about 3 feet, 5 of them I could fit in a row on both sides of the pontoon. A total of 10 barrels could contain up to about 4,800 pounds before depreciation and amortization. This weight does not believe he ever met.

I want to be able to 10 people in this boat. With an average weight of 200 pounds of an extreme person, I have 2000 lbs. In addition to the weight of the boat itself, the engine cooling .... .... .... so that the fuel tank. etc. etc.

Just to help readers picture of my design. I will put all the guns stacked up below. 5 in each pontoon. So if you are about to see from the back, I've seen long-Pol 3is the same, 1 on the clock of O 2 1 to 6 clock and another clock, the 10th. After welding in place.

I have some concerns about the use of drums. Should I be concerned about landslides are barrels filled with cold water? If so, it would be better to use smaller containers structurally strong as 30 gallons instead of 55, on drums? I am aware of the leak may occur, but as I said, I do not think the weight will never be near the sink. This leak will not hurt much less if it shows can not use what the best case 12 hours before returning. I can not imagine the leaks, if any, is so serious, it would be a problem in a time window of 12 hours.

With everything that is said about her concerns regarding the use of these drums? Do you have any tips for them? If so, what could make use of pontoons?

Do not think the collapse would be a problem if you directly to heat in the Arctic Ocean. The flight should not be a problem if you do nothing and then seal. I would put the stopper, as closely as possible to the fund, although in the case could - be opened to allow water to leave if necessary, drain off.

480 pounds at sea level in the water means that> I use steel for the lift, and it takes between 5 and 55 liter drums float EUR 2000, and all under water more> The length and weight must be a connection that many people a float 14-16 feet wide, 14-16, but it should so unstable that it is not> even a single boat 24'pontoon may result in 8 working people safe> Need more and more a barrel, at least, 8 + feet>

Leakage should be no problem and can not collapse if the chairs where the rest of the contour does not correspond closely barrel cause pressure on the walls of the barrels. ) With respect to the duration that the platform was shorter than the barrel for stability reasons (opinions on pontoons protruding ends, this may require some additional production facilities, but be sure not to flood the front end during movement (i 'I have the with a pontoon boat, which happened to be unduly loaded.) I think the battery is 30 gallons may be a better choice because they travel further into the water and become more stable.

You can reduce the risk of collapse or thermal expansion of drilling a small (1 / 2 "to 3 / 4") to hole in the side of each drum, the position of the hole at the top as a handle for pontoons. A better way would be to fill the drum packing something like "Peanuts" or something similar. Many companies that have received large boxes with foam packing boxes. If you ask around you be able to find someone who would be willing to give it instead of it. Plastic drums should be good for recreational boating.

I saw several of these over the years in Fairbanks, AK built. Summer we had in the race named in the Tanana River. Some were built by the battery. The best were built in the pipes on the bottom wall. and some were built of plywood pontoon space. these projects, less water and seems more manageable.
